World of Warcraft Classic: What Is New This Week?

In a recent article, we had discussed the new phase of World of Warcraft Classic as we presented the return of Naxxramas as a dungeon. Hundreds of players have tested this new raid on the public test realm and Blizzard seems to be satisfied so far with the result of those tests. As they are preparing to release new content for the original World of Warcraft, they have also made some announcements about WOW Classic. Let us discover this week’s news.

The main news in recent days is that Blizzard intends to proceed to more testing around Naxxramas in WOW Classic. So far, the players could visit the Military Quarter of the undead floating fortress while Blizzard was trying to fix some of the game’s issues with a patch. Arachnophobia alert! The players will soon gain access to the Arachnid Quarter. This quarter is one of the four wings of the fortress along with the Plague Quarter, the Construct Quarter, and the previously mentioned Military Quarter.

Inside this wing of the fortress, the player will be able to fight the three traditional bosses: the Nerubian Crypt Lord Anub’Rekhan, the cult-mistress of the Cult of the Damned Grand Widow Faerlina, and Maexxna the giant spider. The goal of this phase is to allow players to test new game mechanics and report the different bugs they will experience. The access to the Arachnid Quarter will follow a strict schedule announced by Blizzard. You can access the zone by going to Light’s Hope Chapel and talking to NPC Johnny McWeaksauce.

The second news we will cover in this article concerns the World of Warcraft Classic Fall Conquest we talked about a few weeks ago. As a reminder, this tournament opposed teams from North America and Europe in 15v15 matches in the Arathi Basin. The tournament lasted 3 weeks and teams from both regions worked hard to win the completion and win the grand prize. After a difficult series of battles, APES won for Europe while Hell Yeah Brother won the North American side of the competition.

As we can see, World of Warcraft Classic is still going on despite some issues that the development team is working hard to fix. Blizzard has not yet confirmed if there would be a Burning Crusade expansion for the game but players are already preparing to face Kel’Thuzad in Naxxramas.
